Trauma Quality Improvement Program

Elevate the quality of care for trauma patients in your trauma center

Trauma Quality Improvement Program

Improving Care through Data

The ACS TQIP works to elevate the quality of care for trauma patients. In fact, we’re already doing that in more than 900 participating trauma centers across the US. TQIP collects data from your trauma center, provides feedback about your center’s performance, and identifies institutional characteristics that your trauma center staff can implement to improve patient outcomes. The program uses risk-adjusted benchmarking to provide your hospital with accurate national comparisons.

Level I & II TQIP

TQIP focuses on improving quality care by providing validated, risk-adjusted benchmarking for Level I and II trauma centers. This includes education, tools to help programs review data, training for registry staff to increase data quality, learning from other trauma centers, and more.

Level III TQIP

For Level III trauma centers, the ACS can help you extend program reach to more levels of care. Level III TQIP gives you the ability to track outcomes and improve patient care through the utilization of risk-adjusted data, participation in educational opportunities, and collaboration with other TQIP centers.

Pediatric TQIP

Pediatric TQIP focuses on improving quality care by providing validated, risk-adjusted benchmarking for pediatric trauma centers. The risk-adjusted data, combined with training and collaboration with other TQIP participants, allow TQIP participants to track outcomes and improve patient care.

TQIP Collaboratives

A Collaborative is a group of TQIP hospitals in either a specified geographic area or a hospital system working together with the shared goal of trauma system quality improvement. Participating in a Collaborative is a great way to identify and share best practices among Collaborative participants and improve care overall.
